About Us

We've been playing fiddle since the early to mid '90's and had varying degrees of commitment. About two years ago, we each separately made a personal commitment to play more fiddle, and to get back into contradancing, which is how we had initially met back in the mid-nineties. So, we get ourselves re-focused in life, pick up our fiddles and get out to the dances... and get re-acquainted. The rest is history. We have a real love of music, a collection of instruments and resources, and a desire to share what we have and what we love. Currently, we are both focused on fiddling, play in a few community contradance bands, and participate in some local jams. We also attend local dances, festivals and workshops whenever possible.

We've made a lot of friends over the years in the world of fiddling and contradancing. Those friends, the music itself, the energy and lifestyle associated with this sub-culture all work together to engage those who participate in any or all of it, to be conscious of their lifestyle choices, aware of our environment, and to generally be more socially responsible human beings.

Fiddling and contradancing have taught me a few things over the years. You're never too old, or too young... too inexperienced or so experienced that there's nothing new for you... you don't come to a dance as a doctor, lawyer, housewife or student... all who come are welcomed and included regardless of their place in the world outside the dance hall.

The jams are generally just as open and inclusive, regardless of what instrument you play or your level of participation. We all grow and learn together.

It's the sharing that draws folk together, and that's what keeps people coming back for more. Whether it is a music jam, a contradance, other folk dancing, a workshop or camp... the goal is to promote the music and the dance. We're just part of the sharing. Want more information? Email us!
